2003 General
Meeting
November 6, 2003
MINUTES
Converse County Bank
Douglas, Wyoming
The meeting was called to order at 11:15 a.m. by Executive Director Dave Pellatz
as President Jackie Richardson was unable to attend due to weather.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
The minutes for the November 2, 2002 general meeting were approved as written.
DIVISION OF TRAVEL &
TOURISM CONTRACT:
Dave Pellatz informed the members that the strategic alliance contract we had
with the State has been allowed to lapse and, in all likelihood, will not be
available in the future. The Wyoming Business Council is de-emphasizing
strategic alliance contracts and moving towards payment for services.
While we will continue to work with the State, Dave does not feel that any
contracts will be forth coming.
2004 BUDGET & MARKETING
REVIEW:
Dave Pellatz passed out copies of the proposed budget for the year 2004.
The following points were covered:
1. We have $1230 in accounts receivable but Dave feels that all of this
will be collected.
2. We have paid off all the mini loans for publishing Tastes & Tours of
Wyoming.
3. Tastes & Tours book sales have declined and, as the book ages, will
probably drop further. We will try to sell some on eBay and see how that works.
4. We have the funds to pay for a co-op member ad in the 2004 WY Summer
Vacation Directory. Member co-op price will be $50 and WHOA will pick up the
remainder. The members that participate will be listed on a special splash entry
screen on the WHOA website.
A vote to approve the budget was made by Sherri Lovercheck and seconded by Gerry
Brinkers. The membership present approved the 2004 budget as presented.
ELECTION OF DIRECTORS:
Election of board members was held with the following
slate of nominees: Wendy Evarts, Victorian House in Cody; Marvin Brown, Blue
Spruce Inn in Lander; and Sherri Lovercheck, Bear Mountain Riding Ranch in
LaGrange. All three were elected to three year terms.
NEW BUSINESS:
The next fall conference will be held in Cheyenne the
last weekend in October or the first weekend in November, 2004.
Meeting adjourned.
