Fort Reno
1865 - 1868

General Patrick Connor built Fort Connor as a supply base for his Powder River Expedition.  It was renamed Fort Reno in honor of Civil War hero Colonel Reno.  The last Bozeman Trail fort to be abandoned after the treaty of 1868, it burned shortly thereafter.  There is a marker at the site located approximately 12 miles northeast of Sussex.
